Office Photos

May 31st, 2006

Here are the office photos I promised awhile ago.

This is a reminder of what it originally looked like;
Yucky Office

Here’s the office with the first coat of paint on;

Office with new paint

As you can see it still had the horrible “Elmo” carpet. Red shag yuckyness.

Then we painted stripes and took up the carpet.

Pretty office

So now we have to buff the floors and put a new coat of protecting stuff on. Also, we haven’t painted the trim. We have painted the living room though. Pictures of that coming soon.

I am a web queen! (or I try to be)

May 30th, 2006

I’ve been having weird web stuff all day. I’m so glad I fixed it though (Thanks to the wordpress support forums) however, things may get wacky again. I’m trying to move to a different domain name/host. Please hang tight if things look weird, don’t show up, or all the writting is upside down. I promise to fix it as soon as possible.

Love for the Socks

May 28th, 2006

I finally finished Anthony’s socks (pattern will be coming soon, I promise), and I think he’s in love. He put the socks on and it was love at first fitting. Unfortunately, I need a few pictures of the socks for the pattern so he has been forbidden to wear them with shoes or outside of the house.

I finished them while he was at work, and when he got home I was able to present them to him. Of course I forced him to take off his shoes and socks immediately to try them on. The socks he had on were wet from his bike ride home (it’s been raining like crazy the last week) and he was thankful for something dry and warm.

After he had them on he didn’t want to take them off. (I made him so that I could finish a few last things.) However, I couldn’t have been more lucky as a knitter, someone who will appreciate my hard work and gift.

Now he wants more socks (good thing I’ve sign up for Summer of Socks) and he even offered to buy sock yarn. Wahahahahahaha! I will never let him forget that one.

Amazing Lace 2006

May 26th, 2006

See the little Amazing Lace button on my side bar? That’s because I’m part of a team. A lace making team. It’s just me, my needles and my pattern and we are going to make to the finish. Not to mention I have two more skeins of dye my own lace weight on the way. I am unstoppable!

Okay, I know it’s super cheesy, but I think it’ll be a great way to do my lace project. If I get stuck I’ll be with plenty of other lace crazies to help me along the way. If you want to sign up, hit the button and go because sign ups end on Memorial Day (May 29th).

Teeny Little Super Guy

I obviously have a soft spot for the muppets (this originally aired on PBS). Just thought you might like it. Have fun.

A Step Toward Dyeing Adventures

May 25th, 2006

I finally did it! I just ordered white yarn from knitpicks and some Landscapes Dyes from Woodland Woolworks. Knitpicks is all out of sock yarn, which would have been my top choice. so I got the Andes wool and the lace weight instead. I also bought Memories sock yarn in Cape Cod for a Summer of Socks project. I bought plenty to last me for awhile, and if things turn out well, I’ll send a dyed skein to my OneSkein Pal.

Speaking of OneSkein Pals, my pal is awesome. They are going to spin my first skein for me. I’ve never received a hand spun skein from someone before.

I did receive a bit of bad news lately. My Knitty design was rejected. I guess they got more patterns for the summer issue than ever. I can’t decide if I’m going to just post the pattern here or try to find a home for it elsewhere. Most likely I will just post the pattern here.

Now that I’ve spent way to much time lusting over yarn and dyes on the computer it’s time to get to work.

See Eunny Knit!

May 23rd, 2006

I may be way behind, I tend to be. Everyone may already know about this blog, but I just discovered it and I want to share it with you.

See Eunny Knit! is an essential read for all you knit bloggers out there. I did a post about her lace techniques. The lace project I am making is the Print o the Wave pattern (pdf) she has for free on her site and it has been going along smoothly. Lately I have read some of the more recent stuff and she is doing a great help column called “Unravel.” Knitters send questions to her and every Wed. and Fri. she answers questions and shares her expertise. Not to mention the pictures of the amazing and beautiful projects she has going is well worth a visit.

Summer of Socks

May 22nd, 2006

If you like to knit socks, and will be knitting some this summer, go join the Summer of Socks. It’ll be great fun! There’s not much time left, so do it now.

Finished Room #1

May 21st, 2006

I have been a bad blogger, but I have a good excuse. I have been renovating! Anthony and I got the room completely un-wallpapered and cleaned. I actually painted it today and will be doing some finishing touches tomorrow. I’m very tired and need to go to sleep, so I promise to post some pictures of a nice looking home soon. Zzzzzzz……
